Becoming an Auntie and Being a Birthing Partner | My Completed Bucket List ♡

Hey guys! If you’ve been on my blog before you’d know that it’s just one giant bucket list (my official ultimate bucket list can be found here.)

Which by the way, I update all the time by adding things on and ticking things off so I recommend checking somewhat regularly for never ending inspiration for creating (or adding to) your own bucket list.

Every time I’ve completed something on my bucket list I’ll be writing a blogpost about it.

No. 74 Become an Auntie

No. 224 Be a birthing partner

This is the happiest I’ve ever been whilst writing a blogpost. This has been on the top of my bucket list for years and year and to be able to finally officially say that I’m now an auntie honestly makes me feel so emotional.

My Sister and I are unbelievably close and she’s always wanted a baby so badly that it was my biggest wish to see that happen and so I was overjoyed when I found out she was pregnant late last year.

On June 29th at 06:07am, my first ever nephew was born. He’s absolutely gorgeous and I couldn’t have wished for a better bundle of joy. His name is Archie and he was born 8.13lbs, such a chunky monkey!

Being an auntie honestly is one of the best feelings in the world. I feel so full with love and it’s given my life a whole new purpose, I didn’t expect it to have such a massive impact but it’s really changed my life for the better, I’m constantly happier now and just see things in a different perspective.

As well as finally being able to tick off being an auntie off my bucket list, I also got to tick off being a birthing partner.

Unfortunately my sister’s labour was really difficult and she had to end up having a c-section. Understandably she was so nervous going in so to be able to support her and see Archie being lifted up to us was a memory I’ll truly never forget. Instant tears.

After they put Archie skin to skin on my sister on the operating table they then had to give Archie to me for a massive cuddle whilst they closed my sister up and prepared to get her on a different bed, that cuddle was the most magical cuddle I’ve ever had and again, something I’ll never ever forget.

If you ever have the chance to support someone and have the honor to be a birthing partner, please take it. I really can’t get over what a buzz that whole day was and it truly has become my favourite day of my entire life.

These bucket list items will never, ever be topped in my mind but that’s another bucket list item ticked. What’s next?! I’ll be ticking off another bucket list item next week and I’m so excited to share my experience with you guys but until then thank you so much for reading and being part of my bucket list journey!

Thank you so much for reading! Please leave a comment telling me if you’re an auntie/uncle or perhaps you’ve got children yourself! Have you ever been a birthing partner? I’d love to know!
